Have you ever known or used this trick of keyboard shortcut keys for selecting the cells in the same range of Excel spreadsheet before?

First, to explore what it is inside Excel spreadsheet/worksheet together. The number of columns in Excel version 2007 and 2010 has the same amount at 16,384, which is column A : XFD.

In addition, in a spreadsheet/worksheet makes 17,179,869,184 cells each.

Therefore, imagine that how hard it is to select all active cells in an Excel spreadsheet that containing the data entered or even empty cells, which are connected to the other cells in the same range as well. The entire cells with data entered and adjacent empty cells.

Right here at the below method. Now everybody will know and discover the letter keys in a keyboard for performing the shortcut way selecting the completely active cells having data entered into them and their borders adjacent one another in Excel spreadsheet(worksheet).

Just use the two letter keys are "Ctrl" and "A" buttons to do shortcut as the method below.

Method:

  • Click mouse onto any cell that is within the range.
  • Press the "Ctrl" button and hold it.
  • Again, press the "A" button while still keeping the"Ctrl" button down.
  • Then, release the two buttons. 

Shortcut for: Select the current region around the active cell.

Additional:

This will help you to save time for selecting all the data in the whole sheet you have been working on it. Continuously if you want to select all cells in the whole sheet, just press the Ctrl and A buttons again.

You can also apply this shortcut to use in another program like MS Word, Blog, Powerpoint, etc.
